Have the Nerve podcast
I have just come across this great podcast by Susan Wood from Spinal Cord Injuries Australia(SCIA), specifically two episodes that talk about attending school with a disability (not just a spinal cord injury) with Jodie Thompson, Paediatric Nurse Consultant, and Amanda Lane-Brown, Clinical Psychologist. I have had the privilege of working with Jodie and she is a wealth of experience and knowledge.

Complex Disabilities Adult Clinic
Very proud of the work that my adult rehab colleague Dr Rummana Afreen at Westmead Hospital has done to establish a much needed clinic for adults with complex disabilities and recognising how important patient centred care is for both the patient experience and improved medical care. Hopefully, with more public awareness, we will be able to establish more clinics like this.
Spina Bifida Bowel Management Website for Parents
This is a great website for parents mentioned at the Spina Bifida World Congress to help parents understand how they can help manage their child’s neurogenic bowel (link below) This was put together by Colleen Payne, a parent of a child with spina bifida who has also recently worked with the Spina Bifida Association to put together their current bowel management protocol. She also admins a Facebook group for people with spina bifida or parents of children with spina bifida to do discuss bowel management which you can find a link to on the website.
