Paediatric Rehabilitation Physician

Dr Carylyn Lim is a paediatrician specialising in disability and rehabilitation medicine. She has over 10 years of experience in general paediatrics and paediatric rehabilitation. She completed her training at the Sydney Children’s Hospital and the Children’s Hospital at Westmead. She is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and the Australasian Faculty of Rehabilitation Medicine.
Dr Lim holds a Staff Specialist position in Rehab2Kids at Sydney Children’s Hospital and sees patients through the Brain Injury, Cerebral Palsy and Botulinum Toxin clinics, as well as medically leading the Spinal Dysraphism and Spinal Cord Injury Service.
Dr Lim has extensive experience with children with concussion, brain injury, cerebral palsy, hypermobility skeletal dysplasia, limb deficiency, spina bifida, spinal dysraphism, spinal cord injury and developmental delay. She is accredited to administer Botulinum Toxin injections for spasticity and dystonia. She is also trained in the Hammersmith Infant Neurological Examination (HINE).

What do paediAtric rehabilitation physicians do?
Paediatric rehabilitation physicians work in partnership with families and the local medical and allied health professionals to diagnose and assess a young person’s function associated with injury, illness or chronic conditions with the aim of maximising their independence and improving and maintaining their quality of life.
